Step away from your festive feasts for a moment, ’cause we’re flinging some carb-on-carb crime your way. Say hello to the Hainanese chicken rice pizza, a new recipe by fast casual halal chain Pezzo Pizza. And yes, there are actual grains of rice on the pie.
Now, chicken rice, we love. Pizza, we’re total fans of. But a union of both? We’re not quite sure we can ever fully get on board. However, if you won’t rest easy till you’ve tried it, just know that the creation is topped with the usual trimmings of roasted chicken, cucumbers, and chili sauce, plus added cherry tomatoes and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
Those who refuse to let a trend smear their love for pizza (or chicken rice) can go for the Fiery Hot Chick instead, with shredded chicken, chili sauce that’s made extra spicy, green and red peppers, mozzarella, and crispy fish chili. Or try the chicken satay pizza that comes with red onions, cucumbers, and a generous dose of peanut sauce.

Also new to Pezzo is the brand’s first stuffed crust Santa’s Surprise, with mozzarella crammed into the crust, and a pie served with chicken ham, honey ham, pineapples, and pine nuts.
Each slice at any outlet goes for $5.90, so it won’t be too heartbreaking for your wallet if you decide to ditch your pizza mid-way. And if you find yourself converted, well, the entire pizza will set you back $29.90.
