Animal donuts, it seems, have been a thing in Japan (where else) for a while now. But before you brush it off into a corner along with all the other viral food trends like rainbow bagels and raindrop cakes that, more often than not, look better than they taste, check out these cat donuts.

Apparently, they’ve been spotted at Gokuku Japanese Bakery in the basement of Jurong Point shopping centre by eagle-eyed shoppers who love this kinda stuff.

Available in two varieties — the Kuro Cat Donut ($2.20) and the Kawaii Cat Donut ($2.20) — the chocolate-covered desserts reportedly taste pretty much like a standard donut. So don’t expect too much.

If anything, whoever buys ’em is probably trying to keep their ‘gram game strong rather than give in to their hunger pangs.
