An American teppanyaki chain that puts on a fiery grill show is coming to Singapore soon.

Benihana, known for serving a hibachi-style Japanese experience from New York, will be setting up shop in Millenia Walk for its opening in July.

The brand promises guests a unique dining experience where its highly skilled and well-trained chefs will entertain while cooking steak, chicken, seafood and vegetables on a hibachi table.

Most talked about tricks include stacking onion rings and pouring oil to make a volcano, heart-shaped fried rice, the chefs’ spatula skills where food is chopped, flipped and thrown in the air and also … magic tricks?

Benihana was founded by the late Hiroaki Aoki who is the father of DJ Steve Aoki and model-actress Devon Aoki and has grown into well known Japanese-inspired chain frequently featured in movies to promote Asian cultures.

Its closest outlets to Singapore are in Jakarta, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
