Have a boozy brunch with friends at Pollen

Brunch is not just an event for lazy Sundays. Nestled within the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay, Pollen delivers French-Mediterranean cuisine with an elegant dining experience. The Pollen experience begins the moment restaurant guests arrive at Gardens by the Bay, with a personal buggy ride to and from the restaurant. Guests also receive complimentary access to the Flower Dome, presenting an unrivalled climate-controlled dining destination that transports visitors to a Mediterranean garden filled with exotic flowers and herbs.

Indulge in Pollen’s gourmet set lunch menu, or choose from the a la carte menu – Pollen’s newly appointed Executive Chef, Steve Allen, Gordon Ramsay alumnus, tells us the poached and roasted French duck is not to be missed.

The menu is packed with home favourite dishes the entire family can gobble up. Plus, your restaurant choice will have your aunties saying what a good son/daughter you are! If you’re a fish lover go ahead and order the Sautéed Pomfret Fillet with Tomato and Salted Vegetables too. One dish you shouldn’t leave without trying is the famous Crispy Sweet and Sour Noodle in Teochew Style.

Make a casual group meal extra cool at Tiger’s Milk

Tiger’s Milk is Singapore’s only Peruvian rooftop bar. The South American spirit is alive and well here with a Ceviche Bar taking center stage in the restaurant. There’s also an open flame parrilla grill and a pisco bar to check off all the Peruvian classics.

Everything is meant to be shared family style to emphasize the social aspects of mealtime. That’s exactly why Tiger’s Milk is the perfect setting to take a casual group dinner to the next level. It’s an added bonus that the sweeping skyline views are the perfect complement to a glass of (free!) wine.

Celebrate a special occasion at Ô Boeuf à 6 Pattes

The name translates to “the six-legged cow” which might conjure up images of alien bovines, but no, they’re not serving up some strange robo-cow. These guys are dishin’ out high quality beef in six decadent ways, with an amazing menu of French Bistro fare to boot. If you appreciate meat, steak in particular, this restaurant is a perfect choice for any celebration.
Each dish is comprised of freshly prepared ingredients, all made in-house according to traditional cooking techniques and with the best produce available. To top if off there is a great wine list of affordable French bottles. Don’t forget, the first one’s free!

Ô Boeuf à 6 Pattes is located at Park West Condo in the peaceful greenery of Clementi, far from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed; just right for an intimate party. Choose a table overlooking the swimming pool for a great view. Oh, and there’s free, unlimited parking. Yay!

Make a weekday dinner special at Hanashizuku Restaurant

Break up the week and treat yourself to a little dinner at Hanashizuku. This Japanese gem has a posh atmosphere (we’ll chalk that up to the Japanese design) and great service, but don’t worry, it’s not overly fancy.

Hanashizuku is inviting enough for a laid-back meal and sophisticated enough to feel like a treat. Wine and dine your significant other, or even the office gang after a particularly grueling Tuesday. We all need a little wine in our system to keep up with the week, anyway.

Modern menu items like salmon avocado rolls balance out classics like sashimi moriawase, tempura and fresh, crisp salads. Sit at one of the ten spots at the bar and enjoy an Omakase experience. The chef’s attention to each bite will make any weekday feel like a special night.

Take a first date to Longplay

LongPlay is a lively spot on one of Singapore’s most Instagrammed streets – Haji Lane. Brimming with personality and funky tunes, LongPlay is the perfect place to take someone you want to impress but not scare away!

With a focus on great music (the owner collects thousands of vinyls) and exotic dishes (try the Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian style grain-fed sirloin), it ticks all the first date boxes. And if sparks fly, you can easily spend the whole night jiving to music, ordering sharing plates and knocking back glasses of wine. Romance – and a little funk – is in the air!

Book a double date at The Disgruntled Chef

At this hip dining spot you’ll find a menu just as intriguing as the restaurant’s name. Big plates like the Braised Veal Cheeks (served with wilted spinach, Yorkshire pudding and red chili) and the Spinach and Chestnut Pot Stickers (accompanied by black truffles, soy glaze and carrot miso puree) are best shared among friends and loved ones.

So get your couple friends, your gal pals or your bros together and prepare to dig in – and drink up!

Try the decadent Duck & Charcoal Waffle; crispy duck confit, foie gras butter and gastrique, a caramelized sugar and vinegar-based sauce. Then go for a side of Gratin Dauphinoise with Gruyere Cheese, a rich and worthy accompaniment to the fantastic mains.
