Instagram special: Singapore foodies to follow

Instagram warriors know their hashtags — #sgigfoodies, #sgdining, #instafood — but you don’t always get quality shots. Even if you do, you can’t be sure it’s from an Instagram account you’d want on your news feed. Here are Singapore’s top six food Instagram accounts to follow — they’re dedicated (no duck-faced selfies!), look amazing and go some way to guide you through your own gastronomic adventures.

Melly Fong is what we think every lifestyle blogger should be like. Known for her excellent eye and offbeat taste, Fong uses her Instagram account to shed new light on eating and other favourite Singapore pastimes.

@hungrygowhere

The official account of what’s possibly the largest food website in Singapore is run by its editor Celine Asril and her team, basically folks who eat a lot. There’s a lot to learn from them, including what’s going into your food and what the new openings are. Though these aren’t the prettiest food photos we’ve ever seen, be warned — they’ve still got us craving everything from umami chips to smoked duck. Plus they do a mean Instavid.

One of our all-time favourite Singapore food bloggers Zhulaiha A. Rahim posts beautifully composed shots of simple and healthy small meals prepared for her newly expanded family. She still whips up amazing-looking bakes—French toast variations, bread, muffins, pancakes, even pudding—but it’s her charming and uniquely Singaporean food hacks that will keep you wanting more. Zulaikha’s also very interactive on her blog and Instagram account, so ask away!

Sarah Khaw, owner of cake shop/baking school Maple & Market, takes photos of what else but gorgeous, gorgeous cakes, as well as all her favourite eats about town.

@supersavourme

The team behind SuperAdrianMe.com is dedicated to being the first to cover anything new that pops up on the island. They may not cook their own meals or host their own events, but their sub-category Supersavourme satiates the busy Singaporean just fine.
