Just when the Pokémon Go hype is fading away, Japan’s Pokémon Research Exhibition lands on our shores. It’s the first time the interactive event has popped up outside of Japan, and it’ll run for more than two months here.
Inside, you basically get to become a ‘scientific researcher’ for a day as you’re tasked with the mission of uncovering the Pokémon character hidden inside the Pokéball that you choose at the entrance. You get to use up to four of the eight activity machines for hints of the Pokémon’s details like its silhouette and cry.
But don’t worry if you’re no Pokémon expert — you can pick from three different difficulty levels, and you’ll receive clues and reference guides along the way to point you in the right direction. Plus, there’s the humongous Pokédex wall with the names and images of over 700 characters if you need more help.
Pikachu fanatics can also keep an eye out for a larger-than-life appearance of the Pokémon at 11.30am, 2.30pm and 5.30pm daily.
The Pokémon Research Exhibition is on from Oct 22-Jan 2, daily 10am-7pm at the S.E.A. Aquarium in Resorts World Sentosa. Adults $35, children and seniors $23, includes aquarium admission.
