Many people think of Coconuts as that website that covers crazy viral videos, wacky news stories and cool local culture. And sure, that’s certainly a big part of what we do — one of our main goals is to entertain and inform readers with our weird and wondrous content.
But Coconuts is also a progressive media organization that aims to promote equality and justice for all people regardless of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or wealth.
We put a lot of our resources into telling stories about systemic injustices, the oppression of marginalized groups, the mistreatment of animals and threats to the environment. We care deeply about the cities and countries we call home and champion the activists and organizations working to solve these problems and make our communities better for everybody.
