On Saturday morning, March 14, Liezl Martinez passed away from cancer. In a statement, family friend Shirley Kwan said that Liezl died peacefully in her sleep. She had been in the hospital since Monday.
“Liezl is surrounded by her beloved husband Albert; precious children, Alyanna, Alfonso, and Alyssa; loving mother, Amalia; father Bobby; and her relatives at this time of love and grief,” Kwan was quoted in an ABS-CBNNews.com report as saying.
According to an Inquirer.net report, Liezl’s husband Albert confirmed that her wake will be at Heritage Chapels in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. And while the family is grateful for all the prayers, they also wished for a private moment with the actress on Saturday.
Liezl was first diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2007.
