PETA brings back ‘Rak of Aegis’

It’s kinda baduy and that’s why we’re so excited about this piece of news.

Rak of Aegis, a musical featuring chart-topping hits of the KTV-favorite band, will be restaged from June 20 to August 31 with a total of 67 performances. It first ran in January with an initial lineup of 36 shows—but it was such a hit that Philippine Educational Theater Association added seven more sold-out shows.

No new songs have been included in the rerun, but some loose ends have been tightened, according to PETA. The musical was inspired by typhoon Ondoy and is set in a fictional low-income village that is still flooded two months after the storm.

The re-run also features new cast members, including Kimverlie Molina, Oj Mariano, Arnel Ignacio and Jimmy Marquez. Robert Seña, Isay Alvarez and Aicelle Santos will reprise their roles.

Here’s power couple Robert Seña and Isay Alvarez singing “Luha” during a media sneak preview on May 26.

Rak of Aegis. June 20-Aug 30, Thu 8pm, Fri 3pm & 8pm. PHP800, PHP1000, PHP1200 via Ticketworld.
