Repertory Philippines is paying tribute to its late co-founder, Zenaida “Bibot” Amador, on Feb 7 at the Onstage Theater in Greenbelt 1.
The cozy event will happen after the finale performance of Rep’s latest show, mystery thriller The Game’s Afoot.
Pinky Amador, one of the show’s leads, and Zenaida’s niece, is organizing it.
Amador would have been 83 years old had she been alive today. Rep will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year.
That’s a lot of ground to cover as Rep’s finest walks down memory lane this Sunday. Amador has staged more than 300 theatre productions.
Many of the artists she trained, like Lea Salonga and Monique Wilson, made a name for themselves in Broadway and the West End. A few of her “eldest stage kids” have put up and are running their own theater companies.
Bring a few hankies. Prepare for some laughs. Break a leg.
Rep — and their shows — will go on.
