You still have time to join the 66th Don Carlos Palanca Awards

Gave up your writing dreams to put food on the table? You can still become a decorated writer by joining the 66th Carlos Palanca Awards.

You have about a month before the April 30 deadline.

The contest this year includes the usual awards, but the novel and nobela categories will not be opened since these are only open every two years.

For the English division, the categories are short story, short story for children, essay, poetry, poetry written for children, one-act play, and full-length play.

For the Filipino division, the categories are maikling kuwento, maikling kuwentong pambata, sanaysay, tula, tulang para sa mga bata, dulang may isang yugto, dulang ganap ang haba, and dulang pampelikula.

There’s also the regional division for short stories in Ilokano, Hiligaynon and Cebuano.

Those under 18 years old can join the kabataan essay and the kabataan sanaysay.

How to send the entires? Offical contest rules and forms are available at the Carlos Palanca website. You may also e-mail them at cpawards@palancaawards.com.ph  for more information.
