Yolanda survivor ends up giving birth at QC Memorial Circle

With all the foreign aid the country got for Typhoon Yolanda survivors, couldn’t the government have done something more for her?

“Janet Miranda, along with two of her children, migrated to Manila after her husband and another child died during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Carolyn Bonquin on ABS-CBNnews.com.

The pregnant Miranda and her kids were “adopted” by Joe Andizo and other vendors at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

On Tuesday evening, Mar 18, Miranda’s eldest child told Andizo (who had just gotten back to the Quezon Memorial Circle after attending to an errand) that Miranda had already given birth to a baby girl.

The other vendors came to Miranda’s aid. Later on, the Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety team responded and took Miranda and her baby for a check-up.

Miranda is said to be planning to name the baby Melanie, in honor of her late husband Rommel.
