Our Barong Tagalog is certainly a far cry from last year’s Star Trek costume looking tunics, don’t you think?
During Wednesday’s APEC welcome dinner, where they served Yamang Dagat Tinola, Bistek Manilenya, Ensalada Tagala and Maja Blanca Moderna, 18 world leaders and their spouses looked extra dashing in their custom made Barong Tagalog.
It took designer Paul Cabral a grand total of four months to complete the Barong Tagalog that the VIPS wore to dinner, The Guardian reports.
His efforts were not wasted. #APEChotties Mexican President Nieto, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, and US President Obama especially rocked the “semi-sheer and partially made from pineapple fabric” formal wear.
