What took them so long to catch her?
“After more than a decade in hiding, Estela Ledesma, 63, a pyramiding scam suspect—the subject of at least 700 arrest warrants—was arrested in Quezon City last Friday, April 11,” reports Non Alquitran in The Philippine Star.
The report revealed that “Ledesma and her group reportedly victimized around 4,000 people at the height of their operation from 2001 to 2003.” The worked under the company names Mateo Group Holdings Co. Ltd. and MMG International Management Group.
Ledesma was nabbed by a team from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) while she was attending the debut of one of her granddaughters at Casa Milan Subdivision.
The 700 warrants of arrest issued for Ledesma come from different courts in Las Piñas, Makati, and Muntinlupa.
