A woman who gave birth to her daughter at a mall entrance in Barangay (Village) Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City paid a visit yesterday to the police officers who assisted them when she unexpectedly went into labor.
The Police Station 7 in Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City said in a Facebook post yesterday that the mother, Jaira Honey Mae Gawat and her baby, named Gaiza Mae Gawat, came to express their gratitude to the officers.
In the photos, it shows the officers holding the newborn child in their arms, taking turns and smiling.

Facebook user Paula Cadiz Chavez, a mall-goer who happened to witness Jaira giving birth, told Coconuts Manila through a Facebook message that the incident happened around 10:50am on Monday at Gaisano Bulua mall in Cagayan de Oro City.

Chavez said several bystanders assisted Jaira during her dramatic delivery, including the police.
Jaira told ABS-CBN News that she was just about to buy a bag and shoes for her other child, who is currently in kindergarten, when her water broke.
And apparently, this isn’t the first time that Jaira gave birth outside of a hospital. In 2017, she gave birth to her fifth child in a taxi while on the way to the hospital.
One netizen by the name of Regulus Neri Mendoza suggested that all personnel of the Police Station 7 be named godmothers and godfathers of the child.

Stingray Lindongan seconded the motion. He said, “You’re all godmothers and godfathers [now].”

Sweetzu Tzu chimed in with a compliment, saying that the baby was beautiful.
