It’s a story so terrible that you find yourself wishing it’s not true.
“On Tuesday, August 5, a 19-year-old woman sent her father to jail for allegedly raping her for three years and impregnating her twice,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.
According to the woman, “her father started raping her when she was 16, the same year she became pregnant and gave birth to a boy.” She is now eight months pregnant with her second child resulting from her father’s abuse.
The woman finally found the courage to seek the help of a barangay watchman named Gilbert dela Cruz.
It was Dela Cruz who arrested the woman’s father and brought him to the police.
The report noted: “The police report did not mention whether the woman’s mother and her firstborn are staying with her.”
