We hope the rightful owner comes to claim the cash.
“An honest passenger who found US$3,000 in an envelope inside a toilet cubicle at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 turned over the money to authorities on Wednesday, March 18, before boarding her flight for South Korea,” reports Jeannette I. Andrade in Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The report noted: “According to Aviation Security Corp. security guard Rhoda Rualo said the Filipino woman, who asked not to be identified, said that she had found the money inside one of the cubicles at the women’s restroom near Gate 10 of the NAIA-1 departure area.”
The woman then left the money with her and asked her to look for the rightful owner.
According to the woman, an elderly lady had used the cubicle before her. However, when she asked the elderly lady if the envelope full of cash was hers, the latter denied it.
Joel Garcia, Rualo’s supervisor, disclosed that they will turn over the cash to the NAIA Intelligence and Investigation Division. “We really hope the true owner turns up soon,” he said.
