Motorcycle riders should be more careful.
“In the early hours of Tuesday, April 29, Marife Espartero, 34, died of severe head injuries after she fell off the motorcycle she was riding and was run over by a bus along Belfast Avenue in Barangay Pasong Putik, Quezon City,” reports Reinir Padua in The Philippine Star.
According to the police, Espartero had been riding the motorcycle driven by Mary Joy Socorro, 21, when they lost their balance and toppled over.
The report then revealed that “Mayamy bus driver Felipe Estrada, whose vehicle was behind the motorcycle, was unable to avoid Espartero.”
Estrada, who is now in police custody, will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and physical injuries.
Socorro sustained foot injuries.
