A 29-year-old businesswoman has died following a cosmetic operation at a clinic in Mandaluyong City, Sunday.
Shiryl Saturnino went under the knife for breast augmentation, liposuction and butt surgery at the Icon Clinic at around 5pm Saturday.
According to a report by the Philippine Star, “Saturnino was brought to the operating room, and doctors Jose Jovito Mendiola and Samuel Eric Yapjuangco performed the surgery that lasted until around 2:40 am Sunday.”
After the operation, the doctors discovered that Saturnino’s heart was no longer beating. They tried to revive her but failed.
The doctors asked for help from Makati Medical Center, but Dr. Kristel Marie del Rosario declared Saturnino dead at around 3:21 am.
Authorities are investigating if there was negligence during the operation.
