She was simply on her way to the store to buy water when her life got cut short.
“Laila Opinia, 28, who worked as a nanny in Pasay, died after she was hit by a Toyota Fortuner Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) last Tuesday, May 13,” reports Mitch Arceo in Tempo.
According to the report, the driver of the SUV, 35-year-old Hazel Mallari Chilton—a resident of San Lorenzo Village, Makati City—is now facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
The report revealed that Opinia was taken to the Pasay City General Hospital where she died due to injuries. To her credit, Chilton immediately went to the police when the incident happened.
