A 25-year-old woman was caught in the act of recording a film at a mall in Ermita, Manila last night.

Obviously, she didn’t take actor Derek Ramsay’s anti-film piracy warning to heart.

According to mall security guard Romel Cabuhat, he was doing rounds inside the movie theater when he noticed the woman who was almost reclined in her seat while watching the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie Fantastica, ABS-CBN News reported.

Cabuhat noticed that the unidentified woman’s cellphone’s flashlight was on and found out from there that the woman was recording the film on her phone.

Yikes.

The guard then accosted the woman and brought her to a police station. The same report revealed that the woman is an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW).

Authorities found from the suspect’s cellphone that she had been recording the film for an hour, the report adds.

The woman will face charges for violating the Anti-Camcording Act of 2010.

Fantastica is the latest film of comedian Vice Ganda and also stars actors Dingdong Dantes and Richard Gutierrez.

It follows the story of Belat (Vice Ganda) and her adventure to rebuild her family’s carnival and save it from bankruptcy.

Fantastica and another movie titled Jack Em Popoy have been leading the 44th Metro Manila Film Festival box office, ever since the event started on Christmas Day, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

However, Fantastica failed to bag any awards during the festival’s awards night yesterday, another ABS-CBN News article stated.
