Two residents of Baguio City will be charged by the police for allegedly staging a fake kidnapping last week.

Aprilyn Agoyos, 30, was walking home with two of her friends in Dizon Subdivision when a black van suddenly appeared on their path and its passengers kidnapped her. Her friends immediately reported the abduction to the Baguio police, only for the authorities to learn that Agoyos masterminded the incident with her boyfriend, Erwin Ro, who was once imprisoned over drug charges.

The police said that Agoyos’ parents did not approve of her relationship with the former convict.

“Perhaps they thought they were like Romeo and Juliet and were forbidden to see each other,” Baguio Police chief Police Colonel Allen Co told the news program Unang Balita.

The incident left Agoyos’ friends traumatized, and the police are peeved that their time was wasted investigating the allegedly fake kidnapping.

“We are serious in filing cases against these two for the wastage of our resources and for causing panic,” Colonel Co said.
