A woman miraculously survived after she was stabbed 30 times allegedly by her jealous boyfriend in Urdaneta in Pangasinan, local media reported yesterday.

Ella Marie Cambay, a 22-year-old government employee, was allegedly knifed by her unidentified boyfriend inside their own home.

“He asked me if I still liked him. That was the last question he asked [before hurting me],” Cambay said in Filipino in an interview with the news program Balitang Amiahan.

“I said I wanted to leave him because I could no longer take what he was doing,” she added.

Her response allegedly prompted her boyfriend to take a kitchen knife and stab her. The police initially thought Cambay was stabbed 13 times, but they learned that she had 30 wounds after she underwent a medical checkup.

The boyfriend fled their home after committing the crime. The police are looking for the suspect, and he will face charges of frustrated murder if caught.
