“On Wednesday, May 28, a 34-year-old woman claimed to have given birth prematurely inside the Broadway Lodge, a motel along Recto Avenue in Manila, but motel staff and police said she may have performed an abortion on herself,” report ABS-CBNnews.com.
The woman, who was said to have been five months pregnant, was brought to the hospital. She claimed that she “suffered contractions and then the baby came out. She said stress and depression may have caused her to give birth prematurely.”
However, the report said that motel room boy Aldrin Lantin is doubting the woman’s claim because he said she asked for a plastic container from him late Tuesday evening, May 27.
The report revealed that “the baby was later found inside the container, with the placenta and umbilical cord still attached.”
Authorities said they will determine whether the mother indeed aborted her own baby through the help of doctors.
