Vice President Leni Robredo’s visit to Abra in the Cordillera Administrative Region yesterday made it official: she is the only candidate this election season to have traveled to all 81 provinces of the Philippines while on the campaign trail.

Robredo announced the milestone on Twitter, where she thanked the bishop and clergy for welcoming her to the landlocked province and gave thanks to her supporters and volunteers for their warmth.

Her visit to Abra comes off the heels of a successful grand rally held on Monday in Baguio City, where some 30,000 supporters from the Cordillera region converged to show their support for Robredo and her running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan — a solid feat in a region that is part of the purported “Solid North” bailiwick of the Marcos clan.

Soaked in the rain, supporters chanted “Awan ti Solid North,” which means “There is no Solid North” in Ilocano, the main language spoken in the northern part of Luzon island.

With just days to go before Filipinos cast their ballot on May 9, Robredo and her legion of volunteers have tirelessly continued efforts such as conducting house-to-house campaigns and visits to public places such as markets during the last stretch of the campaign — all before months of campaigning and sorties come to a close at Robredo’s miting de avance — a culminating event before polling begins — that will take place in her hometown of Naga City on May 6 and in Makati City on May 7.
