“Ruby Tuason—a former aide of ex-president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada—has returned to the Philippines after being slapped with plunder charges in connection with the multibillion-peso pork barrel fund scam,” reports ANC.
According to the report, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents picked up Tuason from San Francisco. She arrived in Manila at around 3:40am on board Philippine Airlines flight PR 105 from San Francisco. An NBI special task force then secured her from NAIA Terminal 2. She was subsequently taken to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
According to her lawyer, Atty. Dennis Manalo, Tuason is now “provisionally under the DOJ’s Witness Protection Program.”
The report pointed out: “Whistleblowers have identified Tuason as the one who allegedly received kickbacks for Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile.”
