It seems timing was an issue.
“Detained model Deniece Cornejo has to spend another night in the women’s detention cell of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group at Camp Crame despite having posted bail on Wednesday afternoon, September 17,” reports Jaime Laude in The Philippine Star.
According to one of Cornejo’s lawyers, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, his client’s release “was supposed to happen yesterday but they were not able to secure the signature of a court official.”
Cornejo is expected to be released from detention on Thursday, September 18, once the documentary requirements for her release have been submitted.
The report noted: “The Taguig City court granted the bail petition of Cornejo and her co-accused, Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz, and ordered them to put up PHP500,000 bail each for their temporary liberty.”
Cornejo and her group are facing serious illegal detention charges filed by actor Vhong Navarro in connection with the incident in Taguig City last January.
