To be safe, let’s just wait for the official announcement.
Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) chief Martin Andanar explained that they are is still in the process of choosing qualified candidates for the new PTV-4 chief.
“Andanar clarified that they have not named journalist Charie Villa as the government’s television network head,” reports Maricel Burgonio in Manila Bulletin.
In a text message, Andanar commented, “We are still choosing among qualified candidates from all major TV networks. The final reckoning will be when the selection committee approves.”
Villa’s name came up due to reports that she had accepted the position as PTV-4 chief.
Villa used to head ABS-CBN’s news and online business regional group and has been a freelancer since Dec 2014.
She reportedly told the Philippine Daily Inquirer‘s Biz Buzz column that she had accepted the post as this was in line with her advocacy to give Filipino citizens a venue to talk to government.
