From oarfish to hairy globsters, deeply strange and deeply interesting sea creatures have been washing up on Philippine beaches in recent months. TBH, it’s starting to get scary.

The most recent addition is a sunfish found in the waters off Barangay Sangali in Zamboanga City, ABS-CBN News reports.   sunfish

According to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, the sunfish measures 147cm in length and 85cm in width. Generally speaking, sunfish are found in deep waters and far from the coast.

A sunfish was also found in Misamiss Occidental last week. Locals fear that deep-sea creatures are capable of sensing tremors on the Earth’s crust.
