Welding starts fire at Valenzuela warehouse, 1 dead

A man died after fire hit a fabrics warehouse in Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City on Fri morning, Jul 31.

Authorities identified the fatality as Nicanor Crisostomo, 45, the caretaker of Larry’s Curtain warehouse located on JB Juan Street.

Arnaldo Antonio of Valenzuela’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Crisostomo was on his way out of the warehouse when he suffered a heart attack.

Rescuers were able to rush Crisostomo to the Valenzuela Medical Center but he was declared dead on arrival.

The fire started at 11:37am and was declared under control at around 2pm.
