Watch out drunk drivers! MMDA starts random breathalyzer tests

We don’t know why it took this long to do this, but we’re glad it’s finally being done.

“While the anti-drunk driving law has yet to take effect, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has begun conducting random alcohol tests among provincial bus drivers at the integrated terminal in Parañaque City,” reports Anna Liza Villas-Alavaren in the Manila Bulletin.

According to Amante Salvador, the Southwest Integrated Provincial Terminal manager, bus drivers have been subjected to an alcohol test using breathalyzers or breath analyzers.

The report revealed that as of Thursday afternoon, Jan 16, no driver was found intoxicated by MMDA medical personnel.
