WATCH: It’s time to fight violence against women

In the Philippines, 1 in 5 women aged 15-49 has experienced physical abuse.

It could be your sister, your friend, your colleague… it could be you.

38% of victims never share their experiences. Many of them are too scared to speak up. Thus, instances of abuse in the country continue to increase at an alarming rate.

It’s time to speak up. It’s time to fight violence against women.

#NoMoreHiding is an online campaign that will give the victims a voice.

How to support their campaign?

Like their Facebook page and share their valuable content about the realities on violence against women (VAW).

The group is also collecting stories that can help empower abused women. If you know anyone who might be willing to share, send an e-mail at nomorehidingph@gmail.com

Also, spread the word that the operators at 117 have been trained to handle victims of abuse. This hotline can spell the difference between danger and safety.

These efforts are supported by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the Inter-Agency Council on the Violence Against Women and their Children (IACVAWC).

Here’s a video they used to launch their campaign.

Unbelievable makeup transformation

Wait ’til you see what’s behind all the concealer and foundation! Unveil the secret behind her look!——–Violence Against Women (VAW) continues to be a growing issue in the Philippines because many victims still choose to cover up and hide instead of reporting their cases. Now, that we live in a generation where anything and everything can be shared online, let’s give these women the courage to open up about their abuse and stop the violence once and for all. Together with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the Inter-Agency Council on Violence Against Women and Their Children (IACVAWC), let’s break the silence and speak up about violence. For more information, visit:facebook.com/NoMoreHidingPHpcw.gov.phTo report any cases of abuse, dial 117.
