Watch: Faulty LRT-1 doors slam shut on passengers

Can you spell dangerous? L-R-T, that’s how.

A netizen posted a video showing a Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) train with doors that dangerously slammed shut after the commuters had entered Vito Cruz Station.

The faulty doors closed so abruptly, and passengers could’ve easily gotten injured.

Seemon Florano, the guy who posted the video, said that no one got hurt because the passengers were warned about the malfunctioning doors – but that’s not an excuse.

Rochelle Gamboa, LRT spokesperson, said the problem has already been addressed, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports.

“We are doing our very best to be proactive on the maintenance of the 32-year-old train system while awaiting government procurement of new trains,” Gamboa said in a statement.

It may be recalled that earlier this year, a student posted a viral video where the LRT-1 ran with open doors.

The LRT runs from Monumento in Caloocan City to Baclaran in Parañaque City.
