Looks like the Mutya ng Masa has given in to the kutya ng masa.

After being the hot topic on social media, ABS-CBN reporter Doris Bigornia finally broke her silence regarding her bad behavior during The Script’s recent concert in Metro Manila.

Bigornia and her children allegedly ran to the front of the stage and blocked the view of some concertgoers, who had paid good money for their VIP seats, for a good part of the show.

In a Facebook post entitled “The Dark Side of Doris Bigornia,” karate teacher Richard Lim wrote how the newscaster and her daughter, plus a few more spectators, blocked his and his son’s view of the stage.

“When the artists came out to start their show, he said Bigornia and her daughter rushed to the area [center near the stage] and evaded the bouncers despite the concert having numbered seating arrangement,” according to a Philippine Daily Inquirer report.

“The event bouncers instructed them to go back to their seats explaining to them that it was a seated concert but instead of sitting down, she shoved the bouncers and didn’t mind them,” Lim wrote on Facebook.

More people joined Bigornia, but while the bouncers were able to control the crowd, Bigornia, her daughter, and a few others resisted to leave.

Lim said he asked Bigornia politely, but she only ignored him and turned her head to look the other way. He tried again, because his son was already hyperventilating. Bigornia replied, “Wala akong paki kahit mamatay siya diyan.”

According to the report, Bigornia returned to her seat after the show had ended. Lim confronted the reporter when he saw her with a grin on her face. “Yan ang hirap sa inyo eh, porque media ako, iniipit niyo ako tapos youtube niyo agad,” Bigornia supposedly said.

This was her response to the controversy (full statement here):

“I apologize to Mr. Lim if our actions caused any inconvenience or upset him and his son in any way. It was certainly not our intention to do so. However, it is not true that I made a harsh statement when Lim complained that his son was hyperventilating. Knowing the pain of losing a loved one, I would never have uttered such an insensitive statement.

“After the concert, my children and I were happily talking about how much we enjoyed the show when Mr. Lim came and confronted us. When Mr. Lim said hurtful words to my children, I had to step in. My maternal instincts took over. That argument should not have taken place,” Bigornia said.

No, dear, that argument would never have taken place if only someone followed the Golden Rule: Do not do unto others what you don’t want done unto you.
