A video of an 8-year-old girl handling heavy machinery has caught the attention of the webz, and for a good reason! It’s pretty impressive how skilled she is.
Before you shout, “child labor!” you should know that the girl on the video does go to school. In fact, she is even competing for honors in her class.
She just happens to like playing with heavy equipment for fun.
According to ABS-CBN News, Aubrey Ayan is from the town of Hungduan, Ifugao Province. Her dad works in construction. After school, she drives her bicycle to her dad’s workplace to learn and play with heavy machinery.
Audrey’s mom had tried to make her play with dolls, but Aubrey obviously has other preferences.
The video originally posted on “The Igorot” Facebook page has now gone viral, and has been receiving mixed reactions. Concerned netizens pointed out the dangers of Aubrey’s interest. There were also those who were impressed with Aubrey’s competency.
Well, anything that could keep a kid away from gadgets for a few minutes can’t be that bad, right?
Maybe we should just put safety gear on her next time, yes?
