Warning to government employees drinking on the job: Don’t do it

In case government employes missed the memo, the Civil Service Commission reminded them Friday that drinking on the job is strictly prohibited whether or not there is an election liquor ban.

CSC chairman Francisco Duque said drinking during office hours as well as coming to work drunk are administrative offenses punishable by suspension of from one to six months. Habitual offenders may be dismissed from government service.

Government employees are allowed to drink at programs and special events but should only drink beer or wine. Getting drunk is strictly prohibited, the CSC said in a Pilipino Star Ngayon report.
