Typhoon Odette battered several parts of Visayas and Mindanao after first barreling through Siargao island in Surigao del Norte, with some 332,000 residents evacuating across several areas.
Most areas affected by the typhoon have been declared under Tropical Wind Cyclone No. 1, while areas such as Mindoro, Romblon, Aklan, Capiz, the rest of Iloilo, Antique, Guimaras, Negros, and central Palawan are under Signal No. 2.
Still raised under Signal No.3 are northern Palawan, southern Iloilo, and southern Antique.
In light of these developments, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) has begun accepting donations of relief goods in addition to pre-positioned relief goods that were prepared days ahead of Odette’s landfall.
According to Robredo’s page, volunteers may drop off their in-kind donations at the LeniKiko2022 Volunteer Center at 284 Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City. Visitors may enter at 33 Esteban Abada street. Some of the most essential items include blankets; hygiene items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, and sanitary napkins; bottled water; face masks; alcohol, rice, and ready-to-eat food.
Volunteers may also donate in cash through bank accounts under the Tanging Yaman Foundation.
Robredo’s spokesperson Barry Gutierrez confirmed that the Vice President has already flown to Bohol to assist and personally monitor relief operations.
