In case you didn’t know yet, every third week of March and October, the Philippines celebrates Design Week, putting us right smack in the middle of it. Design Week Philippines started in 2011, when no less than the President himself signed a proclamation and declared said week (3rd) of the months (March and Oct) of the year as so.
The second of this year’s Design Week is looking sharp. Apart from the always looked-forward-to Manila FAME (starts Thursday, Oct 17 til Sunday, Oct 20 at SMX, Mall of Asia), the CCP is joining the party as a venue for a few events: There is the Pop-Up Market, where designer products and gourmet food and drink become are showcased to the general public, as well as a series of Design Talks where national artists and international guests will be speaking about how design can actually solve problems. Neat, ain’t it? Click here to see a list events.
In case you decide to be the party pooper of this week-long design party (boo, you!) and can’t attend any of Design Week’s cool events, you’re in luck. The second issue of Wander, country’s only micro guide to travel and design, has just been released and it’s in collaboration with Design Week Philippines.
