Walking tour of Manila’s tourist belt set for Sunday

Manila’s tourism consultant, cultural activist Carlos Celdran, is making good his promise to revive Manila’s former glory one step at a time.

One of his campaigns to rediscover old Manila is through walking tours.  On Sunday, August 18, Celdran is organizing a FREE walking tour of Manila’s tourist belt. The event is free (except for jeepney fare) and the meeting pace is at the parking lot of the Manila Zoo. If you’re interested, you may text 09209092021 or just show up before the 3 pm assembly time.

Manila’s “tourist belt,” expands from the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) to Binondo. The area covers Luneta, Ermita, Malate, Intramuros, Binondo (Chinatown) and Quiapo. Celdran is an experienced Manila tour guide. He was appointed by Mayor Erap Estrada as Tourism head after assuming his post.
