VP Binay’s tip to voters: Take cash from politicians, but vote for who you like

We can’t make these things up.

“During a campaign rally at the plaza in Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte, Vice President Jejomar Binay stated that people should not be ashamed to take money from politicians, especially during the campaign season,” reports Inquirer.net.

Binay’s running mate, Sen. Gringo Honasan, was also in attendance.

Binay was quoted as telling the audience, “Tanggapin po ninyo ang pera, iipit ang pera sa inyong bulsa, at bumoto po kayo sa inyong kursonada lalong-lalo na kay Binay at kay Honasan (Take the money, put it in your pocket, and then just vote for the candidate that you really prefer…especially if it’s Binay and Honasan).”

However, Binay contradicted himself by saying, “Mga taga-Iligan sanay naman kayo sa pulitika. Baguhin na po natin ang pulitika. Bumuto na po tayo ng mga kandidato na may karanasan mamuno (People of Iligan, you are used to politics. Let’s change the way politics is done. Let’s vote for candidates who have experience in governance).”

But taking the money from politicians is hardly doing something new, is it?
