On Thu evening, Jul 30, Vice President Jejomar Binay attended a gathering of local government officials in Cavite province.

The gathering was for the covenant of unity between Binay’s United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) and the province’s political party, Magdalo.

Local officials under the Magdalo Party from 23 municipalities and cities, and 859 barangays took oath as members of UNA.

Amid all this, Binay admitted that he still has no one on his side as running mate for the 2016 presidential elections.

“Wala pa, wala pa. Nasa search committee pa eh. Maraming pinag-aaralan, kinu-consider. Sa hirap talagang makakuha initially (Nobody yet. It’s still with the search committee. There are a lot of things to study and consider. It’s really hard to pick someone initially),” said Binay in a mellow tone as he spoke of his search for a running mate.

Asked if he has spoken to other potential running mates aside from Manila Mayor and former President Joseph Estrada, he said no. with a report from Jorge Cariño, ABS-CBN News
