VP Binay says admin sweep means possible cheating

A sweep in the senatorial election results could mean possible cheating, said Vice President Jejomar Binay during the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) miting de avance in Tondo, Manila held on Friday evening.

He also insinuated that the same people who cheated the late Fernando Poe Jr. are still around and are capable of manipulating the election results. He urged supporters and those who attended the political rally to be vigilant and to watch over the election proceedings for possible cheating. Except for Former Tarlac Governor Tingting Cojuangco and former Senator Richard Gordon, all the rest of the UNA candidates were on stage with VP Binay. Also on stage were former President Joseph Estrada, and Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile. VP Binay’s daughter Nancy, Sen. Pres. Enrile’s son Jack, and Estrada’s son JV Ejercito are running for Senator. Estrada is also running for Mayor in Manila.

The surveys show that the administration candidates have the edge with seven candidates expected to win, with almost sure wins from UNA. This means that the final results could swing from 10-2 to 7-5, in favor of the LP-led administration coalition, GMA News reported.
