Vice-President Jejomar Binay admitted on Mon, Sep 21, that he sometimes asks himself why his survey numbers continue to slide down.

“Paminsan-minsan natatanong ko, ‘Bakit yata ako bumagsak?’ Pero mayroon namang kambyo doon, ‘Hindi, tataas pa yan. Fluid naman iyan eh (Sometimes I ask myself, ‘Why did my ratings go down?’ But then there’s a reason for that, I say, ‘No, that’ll go higher. It’s fluid anyway),'” he said.

In the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, Binay’s numbers increased by just one percentage point to 35%, but Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas dislodged him at the second spot.

Roxas, who declared his intention to run last July 31, saw his rating jump by 18 points to 39%.

Senator Grace Poe remained at the top with 47%.

Despite faring poorly in the recent surveys, Binay is unfazed.

“Ang talagang survey eh araw ng eleksyon. Itong mga nangyayaring survey eh madalas popularity iyun, recall (The real survey happens on election day. These surveys are all about popularity and recall),” he said.
