Not all heroes wear capes and some can be found in the most unexpected of places.

On Saturday, Facebook user Katrina Tolentino shared how a driver for the ride-hailing app Grab saved her life after experiencing a heart attack en route to her home in Parañaque City.

If it weren’t for driver Arnel Lunar’s presence of mind, she said she probably would not have made it.

In the now-viral post with over 50,000 likes and 9,300 shares, Tolentino recounted the experience.

She wrote: “Tonight, I thought that it was my final destination already, I was alert and was telling myself: ‘Nope, not today.’ And I’m thankful that I have this Superman with me who saved my life.”

During the ride, she asked Lunar to rush after realizing that she was having a heart attack and without question, the driver did.

In a Facebook message to Coconuts Manila, Tolentino said that she didn’t have any heart conditions but has asthma, which was found that it could double the risk of a heart attack.

She added in her Facebook post: “[I told him] ‘I can make it to the hospital, and all you have to do is drive faster and do all you can to get through the road.'”

Lunar then lowered the car window and started to shout ‘Get out of the way!’

Tolentino arrived at the Unihealth-Parañaque Hospital and Medical Center in less than 5 minutes.

“[The] hospital is like 15 minutes away, it would take us 30 minutes if he didn’t hurry,” she told Coconuts Manila.

According to the Facebook post, the driver even took care of Tolentino’s belongings and patiently waited outside until her sister arrived. Apparently, he canceled two bookings to make sure that Tolentino was alright.

Tolentino didn’t get to thank her hero, but she hopes the Facebook post would reach him. She intends to thank him in person as well.

“After my recovery, I plan to contact him and thank him personally,” Tolentino said.
