Maybe the Philippines isn’t the best place to do the In My Feelings challenge.
Content creator Paperbug TV posted a video on Monday that showed the risks that people could face if they do the viral challenge on the country’s roads.
Its post read: “Now for a very important message from PaperbugTV to everyone doing the (sic) Drake’s In My Feelings Challenge.”
The video went on to show a Filipino man dancing along to the song outside a moving vehicle, similar to what other people have been doing. It stops when he gets mowed down by a jeepney–the animated version, that is.
For those unaware, jeepneys are a popular mode of transportation in the Philippines. Typically flamboyantly designed, they were converted from the jeeps that the American soldiers have left in the country after World War II.
Watch the video to appreciate.
The Facebook page added the In My Feelings hashtags as well as #DrakeResponsibly. It also added the Filipino hashtag #MagingatsaKIKI which translates to “be careful when doing the Kiki [challenge]”
The video has garnered over 409,000 views and 7,200 shares as of posting.
In an interview via Facebook messenger with Coconuts Manila, PaperbugTV said they just saw people doing the new viral dance challenge and “made one of our own.”
“We found our idea really funny so we shot it right away,” they added. The comical video also serves as a warning to people to be more careful when they’re doing the challenge.

“People [have been] complaining about the inconvenience caused by [other] people [when they] make the video,” they wrote. “Our message to the public would be to make sure that they aren’t inconveniencing anyone when they’re creating the video and be careful. As funny as our vid[eo] is, accidents can happen and that isn’t funny at all.”
Netizens couldn’t help but share their thoughts on the challenge:
Facebook user Iann Maxwell Victorino wrote something that was already glaringly obvious: “[E]dited”
Another user by the name of Erika Erika wrote in a mix of English and Filipino: “If I see someone doing that [challenge] and that person gets hit [by a car], I’d really scream, ‘Kiki, what happened?’ Hahahaha.”
Brian Wilson said that the video is “So effing good.”
One pointed out that the sudden turn of events shocked her to her core. Novy Liza wrote: “D*mn it, I got nervous [when the guy got hit], I lost my soul [when that happened] wahaha.”
Another said that the comedic video is unrealistic, given the congested roads in the Philippines.
Hiyas Amor Bueña Beronia wrote: “If you do the Kiki challenge in EDSA, the song would be done and no matter how many times the song repeats, [the cars] won’t even move. #OnlyInPinas”
Beronia shared in another comment: “Don’t worry, that won’t happen in the Philippines… Hello, the traffic’s insane.”
Still, better to be safe than sorry. Remember to Drake responsibly.
