Viral: Typhoon Yolanda survivors dance to Pharrell Williams

It’s been months since Typhoon Yolanda hit and survivors are busy trying to rebuild their lives. Though there are many obstacles to normalcy and it may take a long time before everything is fixed, the survivors show that they are grateful for the help of both friends and strangers.

To celebrate their enduring spirit, Quentin Musset directed an informal “music video” showing the Typhoon Yolanda survivors dancing to Pharrell Williams’ “Happy.”

Incidentally, Williams has partnered with the United Nations Foundation to celebrate International Day of Happiness on Mar 20. United Nations General Assembly established the day to emphasize that “the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal.”

The note accompanying the “Happy” video featuring the people of Tacloban City also credits the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for making the project possible.
