Are the pictures for real or a hoax?
The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Philippines is trying to find out if offensive images of a baby that went viral is for real.
One photo shows a naked baby crawling on a dirty floor; in another, it is on a sniffing a dish full of what appears to be dog food.
The screenshot of the photos indicate they were uploaded by a woman. The accompanying caption: “Bago ko nga plang alagang aso haha… lakas ng tama ng anak ko sunod sunuran nman… #dami kong tawa d2 grabe…” (My new pet dog LOL, my baby’s on a trip.)
It’s not clear who uploaded the screenshots of the said photos first. However, as stated in a TV Patrol report, concerned citizens have already urged DSWD to conduct a probe.
DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman expressed her horror over the photos, saying in Filipino: “What kind of people would do this? Where is your heart? Where is your understanding? What if this was done to you?”
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is now helping the DSWD determine who uploaded the images.
