Last Fri, Feb 26, DashCam Journals PH uploaded on YouTube a video showing a group of minors converging near an overpass along C-5 Road, at the boundary of Taguig City and Makati City. The overpass seems to be situated near a patch of elevated land, which had some rocks on it. It is not clear if the rocks were already there or if they were brought there.
The video, which lasts for one minute and 21 seconds, shows the minors picking up rocks from the patch of land and then hurling the rocks towards the cars passing below. The whole thing happened in broad daylight.
For a time, there was some speculation that only adults who were out to rob car drivers were hurling rocks as part of their ploy to get vehicles to pull over. This video is proof that kids really do it, too. The question is: Are they doing it for fun or are they doing it for practice for future robberies? We may never know.
In any case, the video has been brought to the attention of Taguig police chief S/Supt. Ramil Ramirez, who says they are now coordinating with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to rescue the children.
So, who’s going to rescue the poor unfortunate car drivers?
