Metro Manila traffic is bad enough without this sort of obstruction.
“A dashcam video, supposedly taken by one “PD CJ NL DeBelen” and shared by Top Gear Philippines, went viral early Friday morning, April 24. The driver of the car taking the video was cruising along the inner lane of a road in Bonfacio Global City when a black Jaguar counterflowed into the same lane,” reports TJ Dimacali on GMA News Online.
The report noted: “The Jaguar’s driver got out and berated the video taker for blocking his path. ‘Ang luwag-luwag sa kanan eh!’ he could be heard shouting.”
The report went on to point out that “the black Jaguar is clearly seen going against traffic despite the presence of a double yellow line at the center of the road, which indicates that ‘all vehicles must keep right and should not overtake unless entering or leaving a driveway or private road.'”
The Jaguar’s plate number as ZPU 562 and, as the report related, “GMA News Online traced the car to Globe Telecom, according to official Land Transportation Office (LTO) sources, citing from records.”
Globe clarified that the car had been sold to Jaguar Philippines years ago. The report quoted Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s head of corporate communications, who explained: “The 2009 Black Jaguar with plate number ZPU562 was traded in by Globe to Jaguar Philippines in 2013. We understand that this car is being used as an executive loaner car by Jaguar Philippines. We are very disappointed that some people have on purpose involved Globe Telecom in this controversy. Globe, as a responsible corporate citizen, takes pride in its employee culture of integrity and responsibility.”
GMA News Online has contacted Jaguar Philippines and it awaiting feedback from the company.
