Undefeated American boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is set to face Pinoy boxing champ Manny Pacquiao on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, recently posted an Instagram video showing him chopping logs as part of his training.
Roy Luarca of Philippine Daily Inquirer quipped: “Mayweather may have taken a cue from Oscar De La Hoya and Juan Manuel Marquez, who also chopped wood and pounded tires while preparing for their fights with Pacquiao.”
However, netizens pointed out that Mayweather seemed to be “channeling Rocky,” the fictional boxer popularized by Sylvester Stallone who resorted to Old School training methods. See the video below.
